Monday Afternoon {Weekend Re-cap}

This weekend was actually a really good one. We were pretty busy but yet enjoyed time at home.

{Friday} evening Neil & I went to Earls for supper. Their Fettuccine Alfredo is my absolute favvvourite dish. It's the only thing I order when we go and if I could, I would take 2 orders home every time we're there. It was nice for us to get out and have a date night {we've spent a lot of time at home recently}. I even ran into an old good dancing friend. It was so nice to see her and catch up for a quick minute. After supper we went to my brother in law & sister in laws place to check out some new wheels he bought {very nice truck C}. We had a good visit with them and then made our way home.

{Saturday} we did some cleaning/laundry/tidying up around home. My grandparents came by in the afternoon for a visit and then we went to my Aunts/cousins place for a family birthday BBQ {my cousin turned 20 on Friday. 20 ? really ?? crazy...}. We had a really nice time visiting, eating good food & desserts. Our plan was to watch an actual good, new movie once we got home but instead we ended up watching Dodgeball while I played Candy Crush and Neil read. I stayed up until almost 11pm, a record for me as of lately !

{Sunday} morning Neil had a ridiculously early playoff basketball game for 9am {unfortunately they lost} but I was happy because I had the bed to myself for a bit and slept in again {sleeping in is rare okay..}. Once he got home we headed out to do some running around. We went to Midtown to grab some shampoo/conditioner/makeup for me and stopped at Home Depot to pick up paint to make a screen on our wall.

We have a projector downstairs and the picture is projected onto our wall. Our walls downstairs are a dark grey & don't give the best image quality. And because the picture is so big we can't actually buy a proper screen that's the right size. Neil mentioned a while ago about painting "a screen" on the wall and putting black velvet tape along the edges to make a border. I wasn't crazy for the idea but finally I agreed to it. He did the project in the afternoon and it actually turned out really, really good. It brightens up the picture so much ! We just need to get the velvet tape and it'll be done. We finished our weekend off by enjoying our new "screen" watching Rio.

What I'm looking forward to this week: visiting with Krystal while we eat dessert on Thursday !

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm loving...

... that the sun is out when I drive to work and doesn't go down for a long time afterwork

... that our Equinox is staying relatively clean {I HATE having a dirty vehicle}

... that we got to see our nephew on Friday, he is such a ham

... that it's been somewhat warm enough to wear flats & Sanuks again without my feet freezing

... that Neil agreed to buying a bed frame as our anniversary gifts to each other. I've wanted one for a while now but it always seems to get pushed to the back of the line on the purchasing list

... that my brother is coming over for supper tonight and hangout

... and that we're going to my parents for supper tomorrow to visit before they head out on a road trip friday

plus, Wednesday means it's closer to Friday !

Monday Afternoon {Weekend Re-cap}

I haven't done one of these in a longgg time, I guess that shows how boring we are.

{Friday} night Neil went to his brothers house to hang out. Bella and I snuggled downstairs and watched PS I Love You. I was fighting to stay awake and finally went to bed at 9:30 {I know, I'm crazy on a Friday night}

{Saturday} Neil & I came into the city for a bit, grabbed some groceries & checked out Lawson Mall. When we got home, we went on a pre-spring cleaning rampage. I tackled our bedroom, getting rid of clothes that I don't wear/fit anymore and donating them. Neil worked in the basement, cleaning out our spare bedroom {which became a graveyard for wedding gift boxes}, cleaning out under the stairs {before we couldn't walk in it because so much crap was laying around} and tidying up the laundry room {we had a junk corner where everything random was put}. It felt soo good to purge & it looks so much nicer ! All of our random shoes that were sitting in garbage bags are in one huge bin, our Christmas tree boxes are further back and not sitting in the "open part" of under the stairs, and there is room to walk around the one side of the laundry room now {if I needed to, which I don't}.

I have big goals this year when it comes to cleaning/purging/taking care of the house. I'm going to put a lot of effort into cleaning each room out as spring comes along, clean our awfully dirty windows, paint trim that's peeling & much more. Fingers crossed that I keep and accomplish this goal.

Saturday night Neil had an indoor flag football game. Unfortunately the boys lost by 1 point but it was a reallly good game. My lovely husband got in a bit of a tiff with an opposing player {the guy was a jerk.. } so I had to yell at him from our seats. He gets passionate about sports and when people aren't playing fair, he gets a bit fired up. We went back to mom & dads to hangout in the garage & have drinks and the quiet visit of the 4 of us turned into a garage party with all of Dallas' buddies. Nothing like driving your slightly full husband home after he's "partying" with your 18 year old brother & his friends.

{Sunday} I met mom for some much needed shopping. Since I donated pretty much everything I had sitting in my closet & wardrobe, I needed a few things to replenish the empty space. I scored on 2 basic t-shirts, 1 bedazzled blouse, 1 aztec style vest, 1 lounge sweater and 1 casual but dressy shirt. That should do for now, but I hope to find some more spring/summer tops soon. Neil played golf with my dad & Cam, had a basketball game and was finally home after 6:30. It turned out to be a busy Sunday for us.

This weekend we are going to the lake ! The boys are going to cut down some dead trees. Can't wait to get out there and hopefully see most of the snow melted away !

Let's Dream, Shall We ?

I don't know where it came from, but the song "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" has popped into my head this morning. Now of course, no one in Saskatchewan is wishing or dreaming of anything snow related right now. So instead, I'm going to positive today, change the lyrics up & list the things I'm dreaming of right now.

"I'm dreaming of ... "

... a day on the golf course at the lake

... spending a really, hot Saturday afternoon in our backyard pool

... showing up at the lake on a Friday night, having a BBQ supper & having a fire at the campsite

... going for a walk in my Lululemon shorts & Sanuks

... wear flip flops & capris again

... the lake in general {see a trend of what I'm really dreaming of ?}

... fresh, juicy watermelon {yum !}

... the warm, warm sun tanning my skin

Now that it is March, I feel like we're almost there. Spring is almost here, not too much longer. I'm already starting a to-do list once the snow melts. Plant flowers this year is a big one, re-do the trim around the house, clean windows, spend lots of time outside and be at the lake as much as possible. No wedding planning, no weddings to attend, no graduations, no big birthday parties are happening this year will make my list that much easier to do !
